Prep Cook – Southfork Restaurant Holdings LLC

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Pay: $11.00 – $14.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
The Prep Cook keeps the kitchen running smoothly by prepping ingredients, organizing storage areas, stocking the serving line, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace. This position is essential to consistent food quality, fast service, and maintaining Southfork’s standards.

Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Production
Complete daily prep list accurately and on time
Chop, slice, dice, measure, portion, and prepare all ingredients
Cook bulk items (vegetables, proteins, sides) for the serving line
Support Line Cooks during service when needed
Stocking & Inventory
Stock and restock the serving line
Report low-stock items before shortages occur
Assist with organizing the walk-in, freezer, and dry storage areas
Help with weekly inventory counts when assigned
Food Safety, FIFO & Cleanliness
Follow all food safety procedures, including time/temperature rules
Date, label, and rotate products using FIFO
Maintain spotless workstations and clean as you go
Sanitize prep tables, tools, equipment, and storage areas
Teamwork & Support
Communicate prep needs or shortages to the Kitchen Manager
Assist with dishwashing or cleaning when needed
Help receive and store deliveries
Qualifications
Required:
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic knife skills
Ability to read recipes and prep sheets
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred:
1+ year prep or kitchen experience
ServSafe Food Handler Certification
Experience with FIFO, bulk prep, or line support
Schedule
Morning, day, and evening shifts available
Part-time or full-time hours
Weekends required
Pay
$11.00 – $14.00 per hour, depending on experience and performance.
Opportunities for raises based on reliability, speed, and consistency.
